Why did he ever think following his father’s tracks would be a good idea, exactly? At first he hadn’t even been aware of it. His paws had just followed his nose. Absent minded he had been going towards the one person he needed in his life right now the most. After all, he was kind of lost. He needed some guidance, approval, a pat on the back and a ‘go Warpaw’ to push through. Sadly, Acefray was not the father that could provide him such thing right now. Nonetheless, he was looking for him. Against all expectations to find him though.

For a bit now, he had lost the trail. The only conclusion he had, was that it was leading to ThunderClan territory. Or Fourtrees? He had no clue. There was only one way to find out. He knew it was against the Code to cross the border. He hesitated for a while, hiding in some bushes right along the Thunderpath. But eventually, his desire to see his father grew stronger than his fear of getting caught. Before he could control his own movement, he had crossed the road. His heartbeat was racing, and he stood there, frozen. Once his racing heart calmed down a bit, he started looking around. Now, where was that damned trail?

LET ME FACE MY FEARS

Soft paws threaded softly through the snow. Some fresh air would get her mind into focus-mode again. She was feeling absent the last few day and honestly, it bothered her more than she would like to admit. Mistgaze heard the roar of the twoleg monsters in the distance, knowing she was close to the thunderpath. The thunderpath where her mother was attacked by a monster. It crippled her for life. Acefray found her, saved her and brought her back to ThunderClan. She had been in awe at the sight of the ShadowClan medicine cat at the time. Mistgaze met him after that, many times. Fourtrees became their spot.
While the she-cat was distracted by her own thoughts she now noticed she stood next to the smelly thunderpath. Not even smelly because of the stank that came from twoleg monsters, but from ShadowClan. Had Acefray come to see her? Her one working eyes searched the area only to find a apprentice, a few foxlengths away from her. That was not right. She quickly padded over to him, her whiskers twitching softly. "What are you doing on ThunderClan territory?" she asked with a slight hostile tone. Even though she was moons older than the apprentice, she could not beat him when it would come to fighting. Let's hope it doesn't come to that, she thought by herself.

From the second he was on ThunderClan territory, the doubt settled in again. He was not supposed to be here. Acefray probably had some kind of free pass because of his rank, but he was just a regular apprentice. There was no reason for him to cross the border. If his mentor found out, he would get la chancla for sure. He wasn’t quite sure what to do next. It would be the smartest move to just go back and wait for his father back at the ShadowClan camp. But he had come this far. Maybe he shouldn’t be giving up now? If he could find the medicine cat before someone else found him, he should be fine, right?

That plan quickly failed though. Warpaw jumped away from the voice, turning around at the source of it and pulling his ears back in his neck. ”Great StarClan”, He mumbled, trying to control his trembling paws and tail as his gaze locked with that of another cat. ”I.. Eh.. I am looking for my dad”, He explained. The young tom already regretted his decision. But he was in this situation now, so he’d better make the best of it.
