| There was a smell. It was nasty and vile and made him gag. Yet he traveled forward, attracted to all the shiny things around him like a magpie. Blackpaw stared at the pieces of glass, broken cans and other such things. Every now and again a large crow flew overhead. Some of them looked so big they could scoop him up! Blackpaw bristled at one that landed nearby on a broken fence post and turned its black eyes to him. He hissed loudly with his back arched high, hairs standing up. The bird wasn't impressed and continued his pecking for food. Blackpaw frowned followed by a devious grin. Ha! That birdbrain was distracted. This could be his lucky shot.. He lowered himself to the ground and began to slowly creep near. He was so close to the ground that his belly touched the cold dirt. When his change arose he jumped with a high pitched growl. The raven had seen him coming from a mile off and flew upwards, hitting Blackpaw on the face with a well aimed wing. Blackpaw scrambled backwards and hissed again at the dark, malicious creature. It landed a few feet away from him, as if it wanted to tease him. Come one, catch me! It looked at him with a jeery look, too smart for it's own good. Blackpaw bristled.
